Why Waste is looking for a suitable contractor to help establish, and manage our Pōneke/Wellington cluster of serviced worm farms. We’re growing an epic team throughout Aotearoa and we need someone to step into this impactful role. Starting at only one day a month, this is role will be great for someone needing a paid, regenerative side hustle.
Why Waste is a nationwide network of professionally-serviced worm farms, offered on a monthly subscription. By joining the team, you will be contributing to a shift towards less waste, healthy soil and more resilient communities.
As our linear economy transitions into a more circular economy, access to a service replaces ownership of a product. This encourages values such as product stewardship, quality over quantity, and biomimicry to generate contextually considerate solutions to replace profit driven problems. This kind of future needs good people to build it first.
You’ll be breeding worms, backing trailers, lifting heavy stuff, being out and about setting up and servicing our members' worm farms, presenting to sometimes large groups, and knee deep in real funky shit the rest of the time. We reckon it feels soooo great to be on nature’s team again.
Our membership managers are subcontractors, paid per unit of work. Each piece of the worm network puzzle has a different value and you will invoice for the work you do, paid every two weeks. This can work out to be up to $50/hr but curveballs do occur so we guarantee you will be making $25/hr as a backstop.
You’ll need: a vehicle with a tow bar (or a ute), a cell phone and some space at your whare for assembling worm farms. All mileage you use on Why Waste time can be invoiced to Why Waste.
This contractor role is currently for 1 day a month, and is growing with the membership.
